May 2018 Report – MOET Staff Wishing Pupils Well

As students have been preparing for Primary School Leaving Certificate Examinations, to be written later in the Month, MOET Staff spared a day to wish the candidates luck and success for the period. It was a very colourful and lighthearted day, bursting with positive vibes. Esther, a guest from The Netherlands who once admired the performance of the team when she visited them last year, donated a pack of jerseys for footballers. May 2018 Report – Gifts to MOET Learners

To encourage learning among pupils, MOET boosted pupils morale by providing them with learning materials such as exercise books and pens. April 2018 Report – Mangochi District Hospital up in flames

Some very sad news from April. We learned that the Mangochi District Hospital caught fire.  The front section unfortunately burnt down. It was established that the fire was due to an electrical fault. Efforts to put out the fire in its early stage proved futile as the fire extinguishing experts had to drive all the way from Zomba which is about 200km away. The entire antenatal ward got burnt down. Thankfully, there has been no report of injury to the patients and guardians who were evacuated. Some of the evacuees transferred to Monkey Bay Hospital, 65km away. April 2018 Report – Aquaculture Farming at MOET

Aquaculture is one of the programs being carried out at MOET. This program has helped contribute to MOET income through sale of fingerlings. The fingerlings are taken from the ponds selling of parent fish as well as helping with the school feeding program. During the period, the quality of the water in the pond was observed to have gone below the desirable conditions and responsible staff took an initiative to refill fresher water in them. April 2018 Report – Permaculture

MOET sticks to the Permaculture principles of conserving nature because it benefits mankind and it promotes resource sustainability. Refresher courses are frequently taught at MOET School to acquaint teachers to the permaculture principles, as well as recruit permaculture champions. With teachers being off in April, the institution organised a permaculture training session, with teachers freely participated.
