Sponsored Climb up Mount Mulanje – Children and Headmaster from MOET School and British friends

20 of us are climbing the 3003m Sapitwa peak, Mount Mulanje in Malawi. Our team leader is Carl Bruessow (Mulanje Mountain expert!), 10 children from MOET school and Patterson their director and 8 Brits. Most of these children have never been to their nearest town Mangochi never mind climb the highest mountain in Malawi. Of the Brits theres Robin Clarke and his stepchildren Pippa and Robert and their friends (none have been to Africa before) and our friend Markus who has just had a life threatening heart problem cured! This is going to be a huge 3 days for all of us.

We would like to thank 3 companies in the UK for donating much needed stock to us for the climb:

Cotswold Outdoor – 10 raincoats and 11 torches
Craghoppers – 10 fleeces and 28 pairs of trekking socks
Hi-Tec – 10 pairs of walking boots

MOET school is moving away from those scary times when the recession nearly bankrupted us. Our challenge if to raise funds to secure the future of the school, finish equipping the life skills centre and build more classrooms as there are 9 classes with only 6 classrooms.

Thanks, as always, for opening your hearts to this wonderful school.

Lots of love and best wishes, Robin.
