COVID-19 and MOET
As of 25th July, Malawi had 3,453 confirmed Corona Virus cases,87 deaths and 1373 recoveries. In Mangochi, the District where MOET is located there are 114 confirmed cases and 4 have died. MOET has been busy trying to carry on the juggle of continuing education and understanding the new normal. Over the last month, MOET has made it possible to provide hand sanitiser and face masks to every staff member and secondary school students. MOET is helping each staff member buy at least one each every month.
Face Masks
MOET decided to help the community easily access some of the essentials in the prevention of the spread of Corona Virus. Using the sewing machines, students and tailors are able to design and sew face masks that are being sold at a cheaper price making them more accessible to the local community. This is also a fundraising initiative to help support the school.
