Patterson’s blog: Urgent help needed to maintain latrines

The floods that we experienced from this year’s cyclone have sadly brought about unprecedented damage to our buildings.

We are in dire need of financial support to help maintain the toilets for both girls and boys.

You can see in the picture below that the latrines have now become unsafe to use.

Maintenance of some toilets require complete demolition of building roof and walls due to numerous cracking and rebuilding to make them safe. MOET has already started the demolition work this month so that we can build new walls from the foundations.

However , the challenge here is that this emergency funding is not part of MOET operation budget.
