London Marathon for MOET

This Sunday the 3rd of October Thomas will be running the London Marathon to raise funds for MOET. Thomas has been training for months and despite having to take some pauses from training as a result of shin splits, he is ready to go in 2 days time!

The marathon Thomas will be undertaking is a massive 26.2 miles long but it is no normal marathon – he will be running it in reverse. This means he will run throughout the night and cross the finish line early in the morning before the rest of the runners start the regular marathon.

The specific project that Thomas is raising funds for is to provide solar power to the school. This way, the energy costs at MOET can be reduced allowing future funds to be directed to the areas they are most needed. Completing this project would allow MOET to save enough money to feed all the children at school for a whole month once per year. This is an essential project to be a part of as most of the students do not have the resources at home to prepare regular nutritious meals. Consequently, this means the children are arriving at school hungry which can make it difficult to learn and engage in classes.

The project itself will cost over £10,000 and Thomas is striving to raise a significant proportion of this.
