20 of us are climbing the 3003m Sapitwa peak, Mount Mulanje in Malawi. Our team leader is Carl Bruessow (Mulanje Mountain expert!), 10 children from MOET school and Patterson their director and 8 Brits. Most of these children have never been to their nearest town Mangochi never mind climb the highest mountain in Malawi.
Congratulations to 10 year old Molly Drew who rode the Gent-Wevelgem cyclo sportive on 24th March 2012. 80km over Belgian cobbles and the famed Kemmelberg hill (average 10{73b4ef428908c4b299e6eb53a324bcb36b885dbbcbdcdf07470a14738ec65bc6} gradient). It was all my grandson’s fault. His boat was in dry dock and he had earned quite a bit by was of tips from his generous guests, so he suggested he and I might take a look at the AIDS orphans’ charity that I am involved with in Malawi.
