In 2002 he responded to an advertisement asking for volunteers to help develop a Permaculture project at an orphan school in Malawi (MOET School). The school at that time had only 30 children. He visited for 7 weeks, and was so impressed by the school and the headmaster Patterson Majonanga, that he has been returning every year to help. Robin organizes an annual sponsored walk to raise funds for the school. He has also been instrumental in funding a number of classrooms and furniture, the water tank, pipe line from the lake, and skills block. Email Robin: info@fomoe.org Katherine Spear(Volunteer Link)

Robin was a Commodity Futures Broker for many years before retraining in Organic Horticulture.
Katherine and her family have been friends of MOET School ever since her sister met Patterson while travelling in Malawi for her gap year ten years ago. Katherine visited the school herself soon after and the Spear family have continued to support MOET, being very impressed with the school and its outreach programs.
Angela’s relatives worked with Patterson on setting up MOET School in 1999 and helped raise funds in its early years. Angela has been personally involved in fund raising for MOET School since 2006 and has visited it in the Summer of 2009 and again in April 2011.
